Business Visa
Important announcement
Established
businessmen from Sweden and Finland
are now allowed to avail Visa On
Arrival (VOA) facility on
international airports in Pakistan, with effect
from 1 February 2005.
VOA is a single entry facility for a maximum of 30 days stay in Pakistan,
and will be issued to a business person at arrival on production of the following documents:
A
Recommendation letter
from Swedish or Finnish Chamber of
Commerce and Industry
OR
An Invitation letter
from Business Organization duly recommended by the concerned Trade
Organization / Association in Pakistan.
OR
Recommendation letter
either by the Pakistani Commercial
Counselor posted at Pakistan Mission abroad or the Honorary Investment
Counselor of the Board of
Investment.

Photocopy of the passport

Two recent passport sized photographs.
REQUIREMENTS FOR NORMAL BUSINESS VISA
- One Visa
Application Form duly filled in.
- Passport (should be valid for at least six months).
- Copy of the Person Bevis of the applicant.

Two passport size photographs.

Applications must contain a letter
of recommendation of the concerned company and the invitation letter from the
hosts in Pakistan.

Both the recommendation letter and the invitation letters should be attached to
the application, and the same should NOT be faxed or sent to the
Embassy separately. Embassy will not be responsible for any delay in the
processing of visa request caused by applicant's inability to provide
all the documents together.
The Business letters
should clearly highlight

Very brief history/details
about the company. (when established?... based in?.. in which
sector of the economy does the company operate?....history of operations
in Pakistan? other relevant details etc)

Nature of company's business
projects/plans in Pakistan.

Purpose
of the current visit to Pakistan.
- Level of the employee of the company
who is visiting Pakistan.
- Full Details of the
hosts/contacts in Pakistan. (Companies/individuals etc)
Please note that the main
purpose of these letters is to know more about the business, rather than to
have any guarantees from the company.
Swedish Businessmen of Pakistani origin intending to apply for
a long term business visa for Pakistan, are advised to consider applying
for the Pakistan Origin Card (POC) instead. For further

Fees
- Visa fee must be deposited before
applying for the visa.
- Make sure to bring the Bankgiro
receipt with you while coming to the Embassy.

Alternatively,
the deposit slip must be attached to the
application form before sending it through post, otherwise the case
would be kept pending.

Consular Fees are not accepted in
cash at the Consular desk of the Embassy.

Consular Fees can be deposited in
Embassy’s
SEB Account no 5277 10 109 68 or Facility for making payment by Credit/Debit Card is Now available at the Embassy.

Payments through internet are
not accepted in urgent cases.

Full name of the applicant must be
written clearly on the Bank slips. This is important to confirm
that you have deposited the consular fee.

Applicants from outside Sweden while making payment
of the consular fee through a bank, MUST ADD 60 SEK TO THE TOTAL
FEE ON ACCOUNT OF BANK TRANSFER CHARGES, which is ultimately
paid by the Embassy to the concerned Bank. Such cases,
where
the Bank Transfer Charges are not paid by the applicant to the Embassy,
would be kept pending.

Visa fee is non-refundable.
Please
note
- The Visa will be
effective from the Date of Issue.
- If all the above
mentioned requirements are completed, processing of the visa
application requires five to six (5-6) working days,
with normal fee. Visa is issued
within 24 hours on payment of urgent
fee.

- All registered posts should
be sent to Embassy's Post Box, instead of the postal address, for their
timely receipt.

Applications sent through post should contain a
self-addressed return envelope, duly paid for registered mail.

Applicants from outside Sweden should send a self
addressed return envelope along-with 8-10 international postal coupons
(Pl check with your post office)
- In case the requisite formalities have not been fulfilled, applicant
will be responsible for any delay in processing of the visa application.
- Embassy will not be responsible for any delay due to intervening
weekends or holidays.
- Telephone enquires about any
important matter concerning visa cases are entertained only between
1430 to 1700 hrs.
