REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A NEW PASSPORT

1. Form A (duly completed);
2. Previous passport in original along with a photocopy of its first two pages.
3. Three (3) passport size latest photographs .
4. Computerized National Identity Card (C.N.I.C) in original along with a photocopy.
5. Pakistani nationals already having Swedish passports are advised to apply as DUAL NATIONALS. (See requirements for issuance of Dual Nationality passport)

IMPORTANT

• New machine-readable passports have been introduced in Pakistan. However the old passports will remain valid for sometime. Please also note that the Embassy is still issuing passports according to the old system. Any change in this regard will be notified in due course.
   
• In order to avoid any undesirable situation, all Pakistani passport holders are advised to keep a photocopy of their Pakistani passports, including the page carrying their residence permit/visa.

Loss of Passport cases

2.    Applicants for a new Pakistani passport on the basis of Loss of passport should additionally provide the following:

• Police report for the lost passport;
• A certificate of legal residence from the concerned authorities of the country of residence.
• Photocopy of the lost Pakistani passport, including the copy of the page bearing the permanent residence permit/valid visa.

  4.   Pl note that loss of passport cases have to be referred to the concerned issuing authority for the authentication of the lost document. The process therefore needs some time and the applicants should plan accordingly.

  5.   If passport is lost for a 2^nd time, regular passport will not be issued. However emergency passport may be issued to facilitate the applicant's return to Pakistan.

Fee for the issuance of a new passport:

a)      Ordinary :                                           SEK 440  

b)      Urgent :                                              SEK 970

c)      In lieu of Lost Passport:                      SEK 710

• Fee for the issuance of fresh passport is SEK 440. 

• Consular Fee is not accepted in cash at the Consular desk of the Embassy.

• Fee can be deposited in Embassy’s SEB Account no 5277 10 109 68 or Facility for making payment by Credit/Debit Card is Now available at the Embassy.

• Payments through internet are not accepted in urgent cases.

• Full name of the applicant must be written clearly on the Bank slips.

• The deposit slip must be attached to the application form before submission, otherwise the case would be kept pending.

• Cash is also not accepted through post. Envelops containing cash are returned without consideration.

• Embassy's IBAN no is: SE80 5000 0000 0527 7101 0968. Swift Address of SEB is: ESSESESS

• Applicants from outside Sweden while making payment of the consular fee through  a bank, MUST ADD  60 SEK TO THE TOTAL FEE ON ACCOUNT OF BANK TRANSFER CHARGES, which is ultimately paid by the Embassy to the concerned Bank. Such cases, where the Bank Transfer Charges are not paid by the applicant to the Embassy, would be kept pending.

• All registered posts should be sent to Embassy's Post Box, instead of the postal address, for their timely receipt.
• Applications sent through post should contain a self-addressed return envelope (Must contain SEK: 70 postage stamps), duly paid for registered mail.

• Applicants from outside Sweden should send a self addressed return envelope along-with 12  international postal coupons (Pl check with your post office)

• All registered mail in this connection should be sent to Embassy's post box address: EMBASSY OF PAKISTAN
   Box  5872, 102 40, STOCKHOLM. This will help us take a prompt action on your application.

PLEASE NOTE:

• In case above requirements for new passport have not been fulfilled, applicant will be responsible for any delay in processing of the application.

• If all the above mentioned requirements are completed, passport is normally issued on the fifth (5) working day following receipt of the application, in case of ordinary fee. Passport is issued the next day on payment of urgent fee.

• Embassy is not responsible for any delay due to intervening weekends or holidays.
